Understanding MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet
MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet operates through the following steps:
Sign Up: Over 1.2 million South Africans have MySchool cards. Supporters apply for a free card and choose up to three schools or charities as their beneficiaries.
Shopping: When supporters make purchases at participating retailers, they swipe their MySchool card along with the purchase.
Contribution: A percentage of the transaction is then allocated to the chosen beneficiary.
Payment: Partner stores cover the contribution on behalf of the cardholder. All transactions are recorded, and supporters receive monthly statements detailing their contributions.
The MySchool card is not a credit or debit card; it simply tracks transactions and funds raised for the chosen beneficiaries.
