Bookstall
The centre has received more than 2000 books over the course of several years
The Durbanvlle Quad Centre relies on different fundraising initiatives to remain functioning. One such initiative is our monthly bookstall. The centre has received more than 2000 books over the course of several years through donations of the very caring Durbanville community.
Many of these books are stored in an old, run down and leaking Wendy House. Our aim was to save up enough money to purchase a pre-owned storage container to use as storage for the books to secure a much needed, however small, income from our monthly bookstall. However, this long term plan could not materialize because the centre’s continued existence takes priority for the sake of it’s 12 residents.
The first Saturday of every month we have our bookstall at the Durbanville Presbyterian Church on Hafele Street, tended to by Louis Choonoo and Casper Erasmus (2 of the Centre’s paraplegic residents). It provides much needed income for the day to day running of the centre.
The books are not priced however any donation made by our patrons is acceptable and of course very much appreciated.
Please come and support a very worthy cause and perhaps even find a few books you might really like.
